XRP is the clear winner for transactions, according to Peter Brandt

 Coinstar

Peter Brandt, a trader long known for his outspoken view of cryptocurrencies, said many digital assets will end up as junk although he singled out XRP as the strongest candidate for transactional use.

The comment came during Crypto Banter’s interview with Ran Neuner and quickly gained attention after Neuner said he didn’t expect such a response.

A difficult twist in a familiar debate

Brandt said XRP would be his top pick if the question is which coin has the best chance of becoming a functioning payment network. He also put Solana and Ethereum in the same group, but the selection of XRP stood out because he had spent years attacking the token and its supporters.

His comments carried a mixed message. On the one hand, he gave credit to XRP for possible real-world transactional uses; on the other hand, he said that most cryptocurrencies will not survive in any meaningful way. That mix of praise and warning is part of what made the interview go viral so quickly.

The reaction spread quickly

The clip quickly spread across crypto social media after Crypto Banter Clips shared it on X with a line asking if Brandt really said XRP. Neuner also made it clear he was surprised, saying he never expected Brandt to speak well of XRP in that environment.

The old criticism still persists

That surprise made sense given Brandt’s recent results. In December 2025, he said XRP traders were among the easiest crowds to lure, and later called XRP and silver enthusiasts some of the most stubborn bulls he’s seen in five decades of trading.

However, his view of property was not one-sided. In October 2025, he published a chart of XRP and called it a very clean long-term setup, and in April 2026, he even asked followers where they thought XRP might find support during a bear market.

For XRP holders, the latest remarks came as another sign that Brandt sees at least one use case where the token belongs near the front of the pack.

For Brandt, however, the point was narrower: XRP may fit the payments race better than most other fields, but that doesn’t mean he believes the rest of crypto will survive.
